Augmented reality is the process of superimposing digitally rendered images
onto our real world environment using mobile devices.
Augmented Reality is defined by Merriam-Webster as “an enhanced version of reality created by the use of technology to overlay digital information on an image of something being viewed through a device”. This technology presents the user with digital experiences they can manipulate and control. Although Augmented Reality can sound extremely complicated, it’s actually quite easy to use. By superimposing interactive elements onto real world environments using mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, headsets, etc) this technology presents the user with digital experiences they can manipulate and control.
The goal of Augmented Reality is to create a system in which the user cannot tell the difference between the real world and the virtual augmentation of it. With AR one is able to recognize and see data immediately, getting information about their surrounds using their smart device.
